San Antonio Dance School

Jorge Barani was Born in Matanzas, Cuba and graduated from the National School of Art Ballet in Havana, Cuba. In 2010, he joined the Ballet de Monterrey Company in Mexico. Barani came to the United States in August 2012. He was invited to the final YAGP gala in New York, dancing with Maria Kochetkova from San Francisco Ballet. In 2013, he won two Gold Medals at the World Ballet Competition USA and joined the Kentucky Ballet Theatre in 2014, as a Principal Dancer. He has danced leading roles in Peter Pan, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Paquita, La Sylphide, Le Corsaire, Harlequinade, Don Quixote, Paris Flames, Talisman, Diana and Actaeon, Laurencia, and contemporary and neoclassical works. In 2015, Barani won the Silver Medal at The Korea International Ballet Competition, in 2016 he won the Gold Medal at Vienna International Ballet Competition and the Silver Medal at Varna International Ballet Competition. Barani has also been invited to dance in international galas in Europe, Asia, Canada, and Mexico .

Chanell Cabrera, born in Cuba, graduated with honors from the National School of Ballet and before joining the Cuban National Ballet (Ballet Nacional de Cuba) in 2014, she had already received awards in international competitions: gold medal and revelation awards. As a professional dancer with the BNC, she has danced all major classical repertoires as well as other contemporary pieces. Cabrera quickly progressed through the Company ranks from Corps de Ballet to Soloist in 2016. She has participated in more than 20 International Ballet festivals and has toured many countries in three continents.

Katherine Ochoa, is a graduate of the world renowned Cuban National School of Ballet, where she studied under the esteemed Ana Julia Bermudez and Ramona de Saa. As an outstanding student and exceptional performer, Katherine won national and international top awards. At the International Competition in Havana, Cuba she consecutively won the Gold Medal in 2015 and 2016, culminating as the 2017 Grand Prix winner. Throughout Cuba, USA, Canada, Brazil and Peru, Katherine’s technical prowess and artistic flair continued to wow audiences. Even as a student, Ms. Ochoa’s maturity and expertise allowed her to perform a diverse range of roles including Giselle, Don Quixote, Diana & Action, Le Corsaire and others. In 2017, Katherine joined the National Ballet of Cuba where she continues to excite and impress national and international audiences.

Rafael Quenedit, born in Havana, Cuba studied at the National Ballet School Fernando Alonso of Havana, Cuba. As a student he was invited to perform in Peru, Italy, Canada, South Africa, United States and several cities in Mexico. He won Gold Medal at the South African International Ballet Competition (Cape Town) and he received Gold Medal and the award for Best Pas de Deux and special mention for Best Artistry at the International Ballet Competition, Havana, Cuba. In 2014, Rafael joined the National Ballet of Cuba where he quickly rose from Corps de Ballet to First Soloist. In July 2017, Mr. Quenedit was promoted to Principal Dancer. With the National Ballet of Cuba, Rafael has performed Swan Lake, Don Quixote, La Fille mal Gardee, Grand Pas de Deux Paquita and others in countries such as Canada, Spain, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
